Due to the lack of the auto sear, you need a tab on your carrier to keep the disconnector from engaging the sear too soon. If you take your carrier out and look down into the fire control group, you will see the rounded arm of the disconnector sticking up on the left side. This is on the trigger pin. Notice that the disconnector catches on the
The Sa vz.58 had a long life - in Eastern Europe it was in use until 2010. But it never became world famous in the way the Kalashnikov has because it was not as reliable as the AK-47.

Well, for all AK type guns they're imported as a single stack, and then the importer mills out the receiver to accept double stack magazines. Vz58 magazines are proprietary and regular AK magazines won't work. Save yourself the money and buy a regular AK. You won't regret it.
Stripper Clips, Stocks, Pistol Grips & More. Used by over 42 militaries in the last 60+ years, the SKS is a classic war rifle. Older than the AK-47, the SKS was originally designed out of the necessity to provide ground troops a lighter rifle, a smaller round, less recoil, higher muzzle velocity, and better accuracy for medium range engagements.
While browsing a local gun shop today, I ran across a VZ-58 that looked to be in very good condition. Since I know very little about about AK's in general, I went home and did some research and discovered that a VZ-58 is in fact, not an AK-47 variant. I had allready made up my mind to buy an
This VZ 58 has a milled steel receiver, but, according to the folks at CZ-USA, it's actually about one pound lighter than an AK-47, which has a stamped receiver. Both the VZ 58's receiver and additional metal parts are well-finished and blued to a military blue/black color.
Zastava ZPAP with dark walnut furniture. Made with a bulged RPK-style front trunnion, a 1.5mm thick stamped steel receiver, and a chrome-lined barrel, the ZPAP eliminates any past issues of the PAP rifles. With the availability of new production imported AKs reduced to Cugir, WBP Fox, and Zastava, the Serbian arms plant seems to have found a
In my opinion, when mounting an optic to the VZ-58, the only option is the upper rail. I have seen those dust cover mounts which are a joke and the RS Regulate side mounts which are way too heavy and sit too high. For some reason VZ-58 owners like to mount EOTechs to the upper rail. EOTech is a good option for an AR-15 but looks horrendous on a
